A book or two ago, Victoria was kidnapped and held by a sadistic killer. She still hasn’t fully recovered, not emotionally anyway. But she’s determined to just ignore it and carry on because her life hasn’t really been roses, and that’s just how she deals.
Wade, for his part, has his own secret, and while he’s spent years pining after Victoria, he was willing to wait. Until she was abducted. That was the kick in the pants he needed to pursue Victoria. He wants her to confide in him, and he wants her in his life as more than just his partner. Â That starts with him following her to a bar where she meets up with a guy, seemingly for a one night stand, but Wade is furious.

I like how I never felt the romance was put on the back burner for the plot, and vice versa. Ms. Eden is exceptional at writing Romantic Suspense. She truly combines the suspense of a thriller with the passion of a romance. I definitely love this series, and I’ll say it again- Avon looks good on Cynthia Eden.
