Jennifer Ashley’s New York Times bestselling Shifters Unbound series continues as a shifter and a human are faced with the unexpected, undeniable pull of a bond

As the military liaison between the human Shifter Bureau and Shiftertown, Walker is often stuck trying to appease both sides—and angering both. So when bear-Shifter Rebecca is captured taking a run in a restricted area, Walker comes up with a compromise: if Rebecca helps him find a missing woman—thought to have been abducted by a Shifter—she won’t be charged and executed.

As a bear used to roaming for miles, Rebecca hates being confined, distrusts anything involving humans, and—worst of all—the strong and handsome Walker starts triggering her mating need. They have no choice but to work together but both Walker and Rebecca find it hard not to mix business with pleasure…

For a human male to be the hero in a shifter romance, I think I expected him to be uber strong, and super alpha. Yet Jennifer Ashely showed me why she’s the master.

Walker is the best hero. He’s the liaison between humans and shifters, so he’s met Rebecca, a Kodiak bear shifter, before. In fact the first time they met, she shifted to bear and sat on him to keep him out of the way (Tiger’s book, I believe- Tiger Magic). She’s about the same height as he is, and she’s used to being in charge. Walker, instead of proving himself stronger, knows she’d balk if he tried to be like that. So he’s patient, laid-back, and self-possessed. I loved him. He understands Rebecca.

There’s a small matter of a human shifter groupie who’s gone missing. No one has heard from her for months, and the cops are sort of shrugging it off as if since she’s a groupie, it’s her own fault. Well Walker has been tasked with finding her. Otherwise Shifters will be blamed for her disappearance.

They go undercover together at some of the shifter bars, and Walker goes in as the shifter groupie. Can I say that Walker in kitty ears and guyliner has got to be the hottest thing I’ve read this year! *fans self* Following a trail that’s been cold for months isn’t easy. Especially not with their attraction to each other getting in the way. But what they find isn’t what they’d thought at all. And the revelation at the end will impact shifters everywhere.

With Walker taking charge and stepping in, Rebecca realizes she wants him more and more, and it isn’t just lust. She really appreciates him, and as with all Jennifer Ashley stories, the romance is natural and well-done. You believe in them as a couple, and you see how as individuals they are strong, but as a couple, they are stronger.

Jennifer Ashley excels at writing romance, and this story is no different.
