Enraptured by Scarlet Hyacinth is book one of the Kaldor Saga.
I have read a number of erotica and romance books that are about or contain M/M relationships, but this one takes the cake. I’m not kidding, this is the best one that I’ve ever read. Scarlet Hyacinth introduces us to the world of Kaldor where there are many different races of beings.
Gabriel is an Alarian (elf-like) bastard son of the King of Alaria, who has been mistreated and abused most of his life. His journey is full of hardship and pain until he stumbles into Lucien of Xeetah, a land of a demon/angel-like race wings and all. They have an instant bond that surpasses everything else is their lives and creates a whole new set of problems. While Lucien and Gabriel are working out their problems, Gabriel’s brothers, Kalin and Orin have also discovered their mates amongst the Xeetan delegates.
These simultaneous love stories really worked for me. Each personality was unique and played well with their partner. The differences between the races offer some fun and interesting conflicts but the underlying and visible love between them all was great to watch and had me eager for more. The fantastical aspects were interesting, mysterious and worked well throughout the story. Even the mind-boggling male pregnancy that is possible between Xeethan mates.
Ready and waiting to read the next installment of this great series!

I live in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. Yes, the supposed country of the vampires. You’ll find it mentioned in my books.
2. Are you Married? kids? pets?
Nope, nope, and nope. I’m twenty-five, and don’t feel ready for marriage or kids. I used to have pets, but I travel a lot since finishing my studies, so I gave up on the idea. My former cat, Fred, now lives with my brother. I’ve also had a doggie, but unfortunately, she died one year back. It’s another reason why I don’t want another pet. Losing them is very painful.
3. What/who/ How did you get started writing?
I’ve been writing on and off since high school – at least in English, and before that, in my mother tongue. I actually got serious about it when I fell in love with m/m fiction. A friend of mine suggested we should start writing a story of our own. To this day, we haven’t finished it, but I began to write on my own, and so, Scarlet Hyacinth was born.
4. Do you want to thank one person in particular for giving that extra push?
I thank her a lot. She’s my best friend.
5. How many books did you attempt before you were published?
By the time I was published, I’d written several books. Enraptured was the first one I ever wrote, though, in this genre, other than In The Heart of A Leviathan, co-authored with Frolic Horror.
6. Do you have any MUST haves to write? Food, drink or time?
Time. Strawberries and chocolate help, although they can just as well distract me. It’s the inspiration I need most, that need and urge to write.
7. Which novel is your favorite of your books?
Difficult to say. Currently, I’d say my favorite is either The Plot Bunny, or Artie the Good Witch, both Silver Publishing books. Artie is currently available for pre-order.
8. Who is your favorite character?
Oh, that’s an unfair question. I love them all. Gabriel from the Kaldor Saga will always have a special place in my heart, as will Kai from Deadly Mates.
9. How many books do you have in the work now?
I have several books in the work. The fifth book in my Deadly Mates series (unnamed), the second in my Bloodkin series (Lover’s Obsession), the second in my Guardians series (Schadenfreude) – as well as several other surprises for my readers.
10. For your next book, What is the name and when is the release date?
My next book is Artie the Good Witch – mentioned above. It will appear on the 21st of May from Silver Publishing.
11. What inspired you write this book?
Artie is my first ever attempt at comedy. I was tired of the angsty feel of most of my work and wanted a change. I think this is why I love Artie so much. He is sarcastic and clumsy and sweet, not at all like other heroes I’ve written. What inspired me… I’m not sure really. I just wrote as it came to me. The black cats in the story kind of led the way. They’re manipulative like that. (I do love cats :D)
12. Do you like writing hot romance scenes?
Oh, yes. Writing is both a hobby and my livelihood. And it’s great to bring my characters together in a hot love scene. I love to convey emotion in my books. I do get bored easily, though, so I’ve also been known to add some kink to my scenes, to spice things up.
13. Do you have plans for another new book/series?
Yes and yes. I always have ideas for more books, and series are my eternal plague. I need to finish the ones I already started – including Kaldor
14. What is the 1st book you remember reading and falling in love with?
I believe Jules Verne’s Mysterious Island or Karl May’s Winnetou. It was a while back and I don’t quite remember which was the first one I read.
15. Who is your favorite author? Favorite series?
Manna Francis, the Administration series. I’m also in love with Yamane Ayano’s Manga.
16. What is your favorite quote?
I don’t think I have one.
17. Do you have a favorite book cover?
I love P.L. Nunn’s work. She’s done a lot of covers for Loose Id. I’m a fan of the Heaven Sent series, by Jet Mykles, and I like the art she did for it. I’m also a big fan of Reese Dante’s, my cover artist for Silver Publishing. My favorite cover ever, though, would be that for Cake, the first Book in the Lord Emperor Vampire Saga, by Derekica Snake. It was created by Nathie, a Deviant Art artist. Yes, I love drawn covers.
18. Naughtiest book you ever read?
LOL. Trick question? I read all sorts of stuff and I don’t get squeamish easily. I’ve read everything from hardcore BDSM (like the Administration) to rape (Derekica Snake). I’ve also read heavy ménages – some with more than 8 people involved (Abby Blake) and a lot of books containing fetishes. Not too fond of things like golden showers, but I have read them (In the Company of Shadows by Sonny and Ais)
19. Favorite color?
Blue. I also like black, but it’s not a color :P.
20. Tell us something no one knows.
I’m a strong believer in the butterfly effect. I believe every small action can affect the course of your life severely.
Thank you Scarlet for sharing about yourself and your fabulous book.
