Secrets of Blood & Bone: Book 1 in the Trilogy of “Q” by Robert S. Sadler was a surprisingly great book. I say this with complete surprise for two reasons. First, because I admittedly have a bias against books with a male main character. It isn’t often that I find I truly like a lot of the main male characters is Fantasy books. They tend to be either irritatingly domineering or so over the top in some way that I can not relate to them. And second, because this book had a slow start. It made me think that I was not going to like it. But I stuck through and am REALLY glad that I did!
There were so many different types of ‘monsters’ as they are termed in the book. The mythology of the story was really interesting with really great twists and turns. A war between the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ supernatural forces is always fun to read about but when you add in the fact that you can not decide which is good and which is bad it makes things even better.
Although it took a little while into the story to catch my undivided attention, Q turned out to be a fantastic character that has a really interesting journey to follow. His personality was wonderfully interesting to watch develop. And the fact that he, personally, will help redefine the battle lines in a war that has been going on for as long as supernaturals can remember is fantastic. By the end of this book I was completely ready for more, and that was before I knew that it was part of a trilogy. I am definitely looking forward to the continuation of this trilogy.

I’m not sure that this one is for me, but interesting review.
Thanks for sharing – I tend to have the same problem with UF main characters being male, but I will look into this one.
I just read this book and I really enjoyed it! I loved the variety of characters and the fact that you never really know who you are cheering for. If you really read into it, the author really offers up a depth of emotions that can be enjoyed by both men and women. Great action scenes along with great sex scenes make this one a winner for me!
