Part 3 of the Just One Night series. One wild night in a Vegas hotel changed everything for Kasie. Sleeping with a powerful, sexy stranger made her rethink her impending marriage, and a whole lot more.
As her affair threatens her job and the sexy billionaire Robert Dade becomes more controlling, Kasie has to figure out if her passion is leading her down a path she really wants. She’s seduced by his gifts of power, success, and adventure, she’s overwhelmed by what he can make her feel with a single touch, the way he can make her ache for him with just a look. But is the cost of absolute power and pleasure a price Kasie can afford? And does she truly know this man who says he can give her everything…or is he still a stranger after all?

1. Hi Kyra! Welcome! You’re our first guest author since we changed names! Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and your books?

Well I’m honored to be your first! I’m the author of the Just One Night erotic e-novella trilogy, the Sophie Katz mysteries and the woman’s fiction book So Much For My Happy Ending. I’m also a single mom ( albeit not for much longer, I recently got engaged) and the owner of a very lovable leopard gecko.

2. Congratulations! And how cute 🙂 Maybe you could tell us what made you decide to write contemporary erotic romance?

I didn’t exactly choose it. An editor at Simon & Schuster asked if I was interested in writing erotic fiction and I said yes because I thought maybe I could do something a little different with the genre.

3. Why a serial? I’ve noticed many authors doing this lately, and we’d love to know what sparked that idea?

Simon & Schuster asked that I break the book up into three novellas and I was happy to do so. In the end I like the way it worked out. eBook novellas allow readers to try an author’s work for a low price and then if they like it they can get the rest of the trilogy and if they don’t they only lost $1.99. Less than they would have spent on a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

4. This sounds fantastic! So why the boardroom erotica? And are there any BDSM elements?

I wanted to create a story about a woman (Kasie) who has to discover who she is and find the courage to be that person without abandoning her professional ambitions. In the JUST ONE NIGHT series Kasie loses more and more of her inhibitions every time she gives into her desire for Robert Dade. The experience makes her delve deep inside her own psyche. She starts questioning the rules she’s been playing by all these years. And then there’s the fact that Kasie is a Harvard educated, highly skilled and accomplished woman who isn’t granted power in the workplace, power she’s arguably earned, until her lover gives it to her…which raises the question, is she entitled to it? And lastly you have a sort of GAME OF THRONES/TUDORS dynamic where everyone is trying to claim dominance. Self-discovery, power games, sexual politics in the workplace, these are subjects I really enjoy exploring and the fact that there’s this intense chemistry between Kasie and Robert Dade…well, that’s just intensifies everything and raises the stakes. Their passion is tied into these corporate power games which makes their story fun to write.

5. Have you ever had a crazy night in Vegas? Or does that fall under What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas?

Well that depends on what you mean by crazy. I’ve been to Vegas a couple of times with girlfriends and we did the clubs and lounges and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning and all that…once we even ended up in a male strip club (Men Of Sapphire), but to my knowledge, no one in our party slept with a stranger.

But I think my craziest experience in Vegas was in 2010 with the man who will soon be my husband. After our second date he boldly asked me to go on a weekend trip to Vegas (at the time he even offered to get me my own suite at the Venetian). He was a big blackjack player back then so the casino set us up. We even got our own private cabana by the pool. Then we went to the blackjack tables and he won big. He used some of his winnings to take me shopping and bought me a totally gorgeous pair of boots. Then there was dinner and a cirque du soleil show and the next day he got me spa servies at one of the best spas in the country. It was literally like being a bond girl for a weekend. I was totally out of my element…and I guess in a way it was a little like playing a part. But then, that’s what people do in Vegas, they either play a part or they let their alter ego shine through. Either way, for me it was a totally wild, crazy and highly memorable weekend.

Wow! you sound like you’d be fun to have around! If you’re ever in Vegas again, you’ll have to look me up! I’d love to have a few drinks with you. Thanks for stopping by, and for bearing with us as we changed our name over from Demon Lover’s Books & More to Got Fiction? Book Blog.
