The Hidden Legacy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews continues as Nevada and Rogan navigate a world where magic is the norm…and their relationship burns hot

Nevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she's used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family's detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor "Mad" Rogan.

Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice …

Once again, Ilona Andrews has created something so fantastic and exciting that I’ve lived in their world for the past couple of days. I’m pretty sure my husband and kids missed me this weekend.

Nevada Baylor is back in the second book in the series, and I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed her. I re-read Burn For Me to refresh myself, and I am so glad I did. It made it that much more exciting to jump back in to her world.

Nevada is a strong truthseeker talent, but she’s been hiding it her whole life. The actions of the last book forced her to strengthen her magic, and pushed her onto the radar of some very powerful Houses. When one of them asks a her to accept a client, she initially balks, until she meets with him. His wife was killed by a very powerful House, and it’s being covered up. It’s totally above her PI paygrade…but she knows he’s going to go after them anyway, and she knows she can help.

Somehow, the people who killed her are also on Mad Rogan’s radar, and he and Nevada are once more thrown together. These two are just combustible when they’re near each other. This is more than hitting sparks off each other, it’s explosions.

But Nevada still isn’t sure that they can ever have anything serious, while at the same time Rogan knows what he wants, and he wants Nevada.

The character growth we see between both Nevada and Rogan, and the secondary characters of Nevada’s eclectic family and friends is so real, and so important. They come together and show why they’re so good together.

I always have such trouble writing reviews for Ilona Andrews books because there’s so much going on and I don’t want to spoil the plot, and the writing is just amazing.

I’m cutting this one short, because if I don’t, I’m afraid I’ll just tell you everything and spoil it all! So, for the TL; DR crowd- Go read this. The book is phenomenal.

If you’ve never read an Ilona Andrews novel, this is a good series to start because it’s only going to be three books, and this is book two. I’ve read it twice since I got it, and I barely have time to grab a shower some days, so that’s saying a lot! Go forth and read! You can come back and thank me later;P
