Navy SEAL T.J. Talbot, SEAL Team 3's bad boy, makes a deathbed promise to protect and care for his fallen buddy's wife and child. The only problem is, she hates him.

This short story in Sharon Hamilton’s popular SEAL series appears in the Hot Alpha SEALs megaset.   Fans of Sharon’s SEAL series will likely enjoy this little bite while they wait for the next book, and for those who haven’t read Hamilton’s work yet this is a good way to try her series out since it can be read as a stand alone.

Hamilton’s style has humor and heart so her books and stories are always a good read.  She packs a lot of both into this little nugget. T.J. and Shannon have an interesting relationship and if I had one complaint it would be that there needed to be a little more insight into T.J. at the beginning because I really disliked him at first.  However, once their story began I warmed up to him quickly and maybe that was the point since Shannon basically has the same reaction.   I don’t want to say too much because it is a short novella, but the themes of love, loss, healing, and finding the courage to live on and on your terms are all there.  I think the thing I liked most was that T.J. never really tries to make Shannon forget her husband (Frankie) – and his best friend – or tells her she needs to move on.  He wants to honor Frankie’s memory as much as Shannon and the descriptions of the ‘brotherhood’ behind the SEALs is touching.

Make sure to pick up Hot Alpha SEALs and give Sharon Hamilton’s “SEAL’s Promise” a read.
