Interview with Author:
Jennifer Moorman
Where do you currently live?

I currently live in Nashville, Tennessee.
Are you Married? kids? pets?

I am not married, nor do I have children or pets. But one day, when I have a yard, I will definitely get a dog. I do have a lot of plants.
What/who/ How did you get started writing?

I’ve been writing all my life. I’ve always loved writing stories. I didn’t realize others didn’t write as much or as often as I did, so when I was younger, I didn’t think there was anything special or different about what I did. However, as I grew up, I realized that what I was doing meant that I was a writer.
Do you want to thank one person in particular for giving that extra push?

I would have to thank Tracey. She’s my sounding board, my brainstorm partner, my honest-opinion beta reader for everything I do. She has helped me out of so many mires. I can’t thank her enough.
How many books did you attempt before you were published?

I’ve only seriously written one other book with the mindset of publishing. I’m editing it right now, though, so I hope it will also be a book that I will publish in the near future.
Do you have any MUST haves to write? Food, drink or time?

Time definitely is the most important and most difficult factor for me. I work full-time as a Publications Coordinator for a publishing company, and it’s a demanding job. I also do freelance editing, so it can be challenging to put aside time for myself to get my own writing done. More often than not, I write while listening to music and sipping a cup of hot tea.
Which novel is your favorite of your books?

Since The Baker’s Man is my first novel, it is my favorite. I’m proud of the hard work that went into writing, editing, and publishing this novel. It’s great to see your hard work pay off.
Who is your favorite character?

In the novel, I would have to say my favorite character is Anna.
How many books do you have in the work now?

I have two other books in the works at the moment.
For your next book, what is the name and when is the release date?

The next novel is called The Wickenstaff’s Journey. It’s a young adult fantasy novel, and a tentative release date right now is Fall 2013.
What inspired you write this book?

One day I was sitting on the beach reading Frankenstein, and I thought, “What would happen if you made a man out of dough?” The idea was born, but it took four years before I sat down and wrote the novel.
Do you like writing hot romance scenes?

I would have to say that I don’t have a lot of experience writing hot romance scenes, but if I did, I bet I would like it a lot.
Do you have plans for another new book/series?

I definitely have plans for more books, and while The Baker’s Man isn’t a series, I do have plans to write more books that take place in the same town with many of the same characters.
What is the 1st book you remember reading and falling in love with?

Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time.
Who is your favorite author? Favorite series?

I love J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. I voraciously read through those books. One of my all-time favorite books is A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb. It’s beautifully written and haunting.
What is your favorite quote?

“Dreams are necessary to life” by Anais Nin
Do you have a favorite book cover?

I don’t know that I have a favorite, but I did buy John Green’s An Abundance of Katherinessolely based on the cover. I’d never read any of his work before I bought that novel.
Naughtiest book you ever read?

This is tough! Probably the first one I remember reading is called Wild Swan. It’s a huge, epic historical novel, but I was pulled in.
Favorite color?

Green
