I just love the way that man looks in a suit. 2. This way I always know what the enemy is up to. Spending my days lifting jewels and my nights tracking the Bureau should have been a genius plan. But the closer I get to Grant Emerson, the more dangerous this feels. With two million dollars'...Read More

Rebel Cowboy by Nicole Helm Series: Big Sky Cowboys #1 Published by Sourcebooks Casablanca on January 5, 2015 Genres: cowboy romance Pages: 352 Source: Advance Reader Copy Buy at Amazon • Buy at Barnes & Noble • Goodreads First in a new series about a struggling Montana ranch, a woman determined to save her family, and the NHL-star-turned-cowboy who makes it all possible. Mel Shaw is determined to keep her family ranch from going under, so she takes on a job helping some city slicker get his old ranch up and running. And if that means being in tight quarters with the hot NHL-star-turned-cowboy? Well, she did say she'd do anything for family. After leaving his NHL career behind, Dan never expected to find a home on his rundown Montana ranch, but with Mel guiding the way, he finds that and so much more… I wanted to like this book so much. But by 30% in I still didn’t like either the hero or the heroine. I think that at 30% is right where we see a change in their relationship, but I didn’t like them enough to want to continue. The hero is a hockey player who screwed up big time. He choked in the playoffs. Twice. Once is crappy, but fine whatever, bad luck. Twice looks suspicious. Rumors abound that he’s thrown the games. He’s gone out west...Read More

Rating System Explanation
Five stars are like six-pack abs on a really tan, hunky guy not wearing much. They make us drool, we stroke them (the books, not the guys! - sometimes the guys...) and want to make sweet, sweet love to them. Five stars is the hottest, we mean, highest honor.
Four stars is a total hunkalicious of burning love, but maybe we didn't like his hair for some reason. We still think he's hot, and we're still going to recommend him, we mean, the book, to readers because it's a damn fine ass, we mean book.
Three stars = that awkward guy at the party. He's cute and you know he's cute, and if you look at him the right way, he even looks like Brad Pitt a little, but there are flaws. Surprisingly, he's good in bed (because you got drunk and shit happens).
Remember that - yeah we don't either.
One star is like expecting a somewhat attractive guy and being sent a Grumpy cat meme. We appreciate the effort, but no. This book was not for us. Grumpy cat might want to use it for litter though.
