Run To You is the sequel to Rescue Me, where after Sadie Hollowell’s father died, she  learned that she has an illegitimate half-sister. Sadie wants to make things right, and at least meet her sister, so she has her fiancé hire an old ex-military buddy to find her. Blake gives his twin brother Beau the details.

That’s where this story picks up.

Stella, or Estella Immaculata Leon-Hollowell, has always known about her sister, but she just assumed Sadie wanted nothing to do with her, just like their father. But she was wrong, and Beau tried to show that to her, and let her know that her sister just wants to meet her, anything else is between the two of them.

Stella, though, likes bartending in the crappy dive bar, and though she won’t admit it, she is secretly afraid. What if Sadie meets her and doesn’t like her?

But things spiral out of her hands as Beau decks her boss for getting handsy with her. Her boss has mob connections, and he is pissed. One thing leads to another, and Beau is driving Stella to see her sister.

This romance was. . .interesting. The sense of humor was there, but I had a hard time believing Stella was a virgin at 28 (because of the way it was written, not because I don’t think there are 28 year old virgins out there). I felt like it came out of nowhere. Then 40 year old Beau is a born again virgin, tired of his man-slut ways, and waiting until he falls in love.

I liked the banter, but the main plot was originally keeping her safe from the mob, but that sort of went away, and the whole plot was their sexual tension. It was good, and I liked it and all, but parts of it were silly and unbelievable.
