A new erotic paranormal series, starring dragon shapeshifters, kicks off with a very sexy debut…

Prince Dylan MacLeod is one of the last pure-blood dragon shape- shifters-and ruler of a dying race, the Dragonstar clan. It falls to him to protect his people and their ancient magic. But he has one important duty: to provide an heir…
Like all dragons, Dylan, who has a dark, rampant sexual appetite, can only procreate with his destined mate-for whom he’s searched for the last five hundred years. But his quest is delayed when a disease sweeps through the Dragonstars, and Dylan must venture to the human world to find a cure. He tracks down bio-chemist Phoebe Quillum, never imagining the beautiful scientist would be the mate he’s been seeking. But even with the fate of the clan on their shoulders, Phoebe and Dylan are overcome by their sexual desire.
Their passion turns to something truer, but when Phoebe is kidnapped by Dylan’s oldest enemy, he must risk everything for his love and his clan…

Book Savvy Babe’s Review:
My first impression of Dark Embers is “HOT!”  This book has plenty steamy sex, alpha male lead character, and dragon shifters; all great ingredients for an amazing paranormal romance.  The alpha male lead is Dylan, who is trying to find a cure for a disease that is killing off dragons in his clan.  His best hope is Phoebe, a Dr and scientist who researches diseases.  The pair have instant chemistry, and it doesn’t take long for them to satiate their sexual appetites.  I will say, the sex was amazing in this book, and I loved the dynamics and the fireworks between Phoebe and Dylan.
Often times in romance novels, the main characters have issues to deal with and work out, and that holds true in Dark Embers.  However, both Dylan and Phoebe’s main issue is denial.  Dylan is constantly denying Phoebe’s call to him, and Phoebe is seriously denying who she is.  This gets old pretty quick, and in the end this denial is pretty much unbelievable.  I was loving the book, and then, with the end, I was disappointed because I just didn’t believe the extent of Phoebe’s denial.  That last plot twist just didn’t add up, other characters should have had more of a clue, even if Phoebe didn’t.  Unfortunately, that ending kind of soured the book for me.
I truly enjoyed the dragons, their structure, their magic, and their abilities.  Every dragon has it’s own unique abilities and style, and this made for fun reading.  Tessa Adams description of the dragon’s lairs and their New Mexico setting was beautiful and well written.  Overall, I enjoyed reading Dark Embers, and I rate it 3 of 5 flames.  It was very fun to read about a different type of shifter, and I will read more of Tessa Adams work in the future.
If you are a fan of erotic paranormal romance and dragons, Dark Embers is a good read.
