This might not really even seem like a newsworthy post, but trust me, it is.
In case you haven’t seen it, there’s a crazy horrible article on The Guardian about Harper Collins YA author Kathleen Hale who literally stalked (her own words) a reviewer over her updates on goodreads. I can’t figure out why The Guardian gave her a platform to show us the depths of her crazy, but they did. Because of that, there’s been some fallout.
I won’t delve into this, because I honestly don’t think I can. It’s a dark, deep pit down there, guys. But Smart Bitches, Dear Author, and Bibilodaze have all done bang up jobs on covering this. Those are 3 blogs I trust. They’ve done their homework and fact-checked. There are others out there who have done great jobs as well, but for now, I don’t want to flood you with links.
The main point of this post, is, Readers, Authors, Winners of Contests, who ever you are, for what ever reason we have your email or home address, we won’t give it to anyone. This should be common sense, but apparently it’s not.
I’ll update our review policy to state that as well.
Thanks, guys! We appreciate you. As an author, I appreciate you, and I won’t ever come to your home over a review, I promise.
