This book was a favorite. Aspen is from the Trouble For Hire series but she crosses over to the Wilde Ways series to get a body guard/fake boyfriend. She needs a bodyguard, and fast. The only problem is that she can’t have him be a bodyguard, he needs to be her new lover. She’s an incredibly intelligent attorney who knows when to ask for help. Wilde is that help.
Gideon knows the drill. All Wilde agents have had bodyguard duty, and he’s no exception. He’s very good at what he does, so when Eric Wilde assigns him to guard Aspen’s body, Gideon is on board. There’s just one little problem. She’s holding back. Aspen hasn’t told him everything. In fact, she’s barely told him anything.
Aspen wanted a bodyguard she could manage. One who would let her take the lead. Gideon is not that man.
The danger Aspen is hiding from turns out to be much bigger than Gideon had thought, but it’s nothing he can’t handle. The two of them make a great team, and I think that’s the best part of the book; where Aspen finally lets him in and they become a team.
One of my favorite things about this series is how Cynthia Eden pairs up unlikely couples and has them learn to work together. They learn they are stronger together, and this book showcases that beautifully. With excitement, danger, and intense sexual tension, this book checks all of my boxes!
