Breaking News:
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger just vetoed $52 million that would have restored funding for critical HIV/AIDS programs throughout the state.
In the face of this crippling cut, a devastating blow to those living with HIV/AIDS and to those at greatest risk for the disease, we must fight harder. Where government has turned its back on those in need, we must step in for our community and re-double our efforts to raise vital funds for AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
“With the funding restoration, the governor had a second chance to do the right thing,” said APLA Executive Director Craig E. Thompson. “Unfortunately, his legacy will be marred by his failure to sustain more than a decade of progress in fighting AIDS in California.”
Now, more than ever, AIDS Project Los Angeles and the 21 other AIDS service organizations who benefit from AIDS Walk Los Angeles need your support.
There are five days before AIDS Walk Los Angeles…and there is still plenty of time to make a huge difference in lives people living with HIV/AIDS.
