A new adventure begins on Harmony…

With its opulent casinos and hotels, the desert city of Illusion Town is totally unique—and will take you on a thrill ride you’ll never forget.

Hannah West isn’t the first woman to wake up in Illusion Town married to a man she barely knows, but she has no memory of the ceremony at all. For that matter, neither does Elias Coppersmith, her new husband. All either can remember is that they were on the run…

With Hannah’s dubious background and shaky para-psych profile, she could have done much worse. The cooly competent mining heir arouses her curiosity—as well as other parts of her mind and body. And even her dust bunny likes him.

But a honeymoon spent retracing their footsteps leads Hannah and Elias into the twisting underground catacombs, where secrets from both their pasts will come to light—and where the energy of their clashing auras will grow hot enough to burn…

I have really liked this series, and the latest installment is no different. I will say that some tend to feel “samey” if you binge-read more than a few, but that’s sort of the draw with Jayne Castle/Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick. You always know what you’re going to get.

Hannah West woke up married and with no memory of the night before in Illusion Town. Illusion Town is basically the Vegas of Harmony. And the man she’s now married to is almost a stranger to her.

Elias Coppersmith has been wanting to meet Hannah for a while now. Thus far, their only communication has been via email. He’d hired her to help him find something. That was what she did-she found things. So when he finally convinces her to go on a real date with him, he’s ecstatic! Until he realizes he has to hire her for his company. What girl wants to be convinced to go on a date only to have him make it about work?

Hannah is disappointed in Elias. She’d thought he liked her, but when he brings up hiring her for his company, she’s convinced it was only about work with him. Until they wake up together in a crappy motel with no memories of the night before.

Hannah can dreamwalk or astral project, I guess, and her talent helps her to locate missing things. She’s also incredibly strong, and that makes it hard for someone to sleep next to her without having nightmares. The fact that Elias can sleep next to her both excites her, and worries her. How strong is he, if he can withstand her powers?

They begin to piece together their previous night, but in the mean time, there are bad guys trying to kidnap Hannah. While they’re figuring out their missing night, they are also discovering how deep the plot to take Hannah goes. And through it all, they discover how powerful she really is.

When they finally realize who’s after her and why, Elias knows his name can protect her. But how will he protect his heart?

I like the way this author writes. The book moves quickly, the story never drags or feels bogged down, and the hero and heroine are always a fun match. I don’t think you need to be a fan of futuristic romance or sci fi to enjoy this series, and while I don’t think you need to read them all, be careful when you pick one up. There are a lot of trilogies and secondary series in this world. So if you read the Ghost Hunter series, you might also be reading the Rainshadow books at the same time. They’re all in the same world.

I had a great time reading this one, I couldn’t put it down, and since I was reading this while camping, I was reading by flashlight at one point. It’s not easy to read by flashlight. Final verdict: I really liked this book, and you should read it. It does work as a standalone.
