Special Guest: SHANNAN ALBRIGHT
Coming from a family of artists I guess being creative was bound to rub off on me. I spent my childhood with my nose buried in a book or drawing. The dreamer of the family – which wasn’t considered a good thing – I spent a lot of my time in my head. Building stories to go with my illustrations. Soon those illustrations became less and less as the writing took over. I use my oil painting like most writers use music. I paint to plot my next story or work through a difficult scene. I love what I do and feel blessed every day I can sit down and lose myself in the worlds I create and the characters that come to life within my pages.
Many still don’t know me, but I’m working to change that. I’m the president of my local RWA chapter and have the proud distinction of being president of Hot Mojave Knights, a reader event in Las Vegas, NV. I guess, even as an adult, I never lost that “dreamer” tendency, and it just goes to show with hard work and tenacity dreams do come true.
When I started writing the Knights of Excalibur trilogy, it actually started as a story about Frankenstein’s monster. As it started coming together I didn’t like the direction it was taking. So I scrapped the idea and bam, just as soon as I hit the delete button the idea came to me. Instead of Beloved Monster it became Beloved Wizard. The books revolves around King Arthur and his knights who have been reincarnated in contemporary America. As the three stories came together I knew I had something delightfully different.
The third and final book is Arthur and Gwen’s story where they deal with the past and try to move on with the future. There are a few surprises along the way with plenty of fighting, magic and an all-out battle set in, of course, Las Vegas.

The Kings Lady: Knights of Excalibur Book Three
Arthur Penner is more than happy to aid a lady in need of help, especially if the woman is targeted by his nemesis Vance Hollister. The fact the lady in question turns out to be not only a powerful witch, but a gorgeous red head with a wealth of curves that don’t quit? Even better.
What he isn’t prepared for is the discovery that the woman just happens to be his reincarnated Queen Gwenivere, and worse, she has no memory of who he is.
His well-ordered life is crumbling around him as yet another surprise turns up in the form of his reincarnated sister. It seems the past is swallowing him whole, forcing him to let go of previous betrayals and trust once more.
Gwen McAllister finds herself between a rock and a hard spot. Drawn to the quiet strength and confidence of Arthur. It isn’t until her memories are savagely restored by a vengeful goddess that she realizes who she is and the bitter betrayal she caused. Even her familiar, a mouthy Himalayan named Salt seems to be against her, demanding she trust the very man she destroyed with her life.
A new threat is rising. One which will plunge the world they know into darkness. To defeat an old enemy they must depend on each other and learn to forgive. A tall order and time is running out. Can they let go of the past and embrace the promise of a future or will they lose everything in the ultimate battle between good and evil?

thanks for the fabulous post and giveaway! I’d have to say loyalty, compassion and commitment.
OMG I love Aruthian stuff. You’re totally going on my TBR Shannan 😀 I expect my knights to be loyal and honorable, even if they only follow their own rules.
Also its awesome that you use your painting skills with your writting. What do you do with your paintings when they’re done? Do you sell them? or paint over them when you start a new book? my house is becoming a bit full 😉
Thanks for the giveaway. I would say loyalty, compassion, love and sacrifice. [email protected]
Thanks for having me here today. Wow, I love the replies, and they are all qualities every woman. Me included look for in a perfect man. Thanks for the comments Erin and Tore.
Nae, I always get a thrill when I can share my love for Arthurian legends with those who love it too!
As for my paintings I still have plenty of walls left Lol! They are tied to me just like the books I create become part of me so I don’t part with them easily.
What virtues do you expect in a knight?
Honor, romance, erotica, and treats his lady like she was the only one in the world.

Good choices Lia. It wouldn’t do to have a knight with all those wonderful qualities and not know how to please a woman. 🙂
I don’t know much about knights but I would guess they need to be loyal, protective and compassionate.
I would expect them to be loyal, brave, protective, honest, honorable, and be dependable.
I expect them to be honorable, respectful, brave and so on. 🙂
Thank you for sharing, Shannan. And also for the chance to read one of your stories.
Loyalty and honor are the virtues I would expect in a knight.
