Ash, Jace, and Gabe: three of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. They’re accustomed to getting anything they want. Anything at all. For Ash, it’s the woman who changes everything he’s ever known about dominance and desire…

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side—extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Even the women he’s shared with his best friend, Jace.

But Jace is involved with a woman he has no intention of sharing. And now even Gabe has settled into a relationship with a woman who gives him everything he needs, leaving Ash feeling restless and unfulfilled.

Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

Book Savvy Babe’s Review:

4.5 of 5 Stars

I love Maya Banks writing, her stories and characters hook me in every time I pick up one of her books.  With that said, Burn is my favorite book in the Breathless Trilogy.

Book 1, Rush, was a good read, but I didn’t connect with Gabe very well.  I fully enjoyed book 2, Fever, even though Jace and Bethany’s story was pretty complicated.  Then there’s Burn, I LOVE it.  Since book 1, I have been curious about Ash, about who he is under his wealthy, playboy persona.  Maya Banks definitely does not disappoint, Ash proved to be just as dominant as Jace and Gabe, and fiercely dedicated to Josie once he found her.

Once Ash meets Josie, something clicks in him and he is determined to get to know her, help her, and have her.  Josie is not some innocent miss, she has tried a variety of relationships before, but her most recent relationship was seriously lacking.  Then Ash came into her world and made her want more.  Ash moves quickly with Josie, which is unnerving for her at times, but Josie rolls with it and doesn’t give off too much strife or angst.  I came to like Josie really quickly.  She seems to be so different from Ash, with her colorful, vibrant personality and artistry.  However, her vibrancy compliments Ash’s intensity and they make a very solid couple.  I also enjoyed having the characters from previous books play a larger role in Burn.  Mia, Gabe, Jace, and Bethany are around to support Ash and Josie and help them through the tough relationship pot-holes.

Burn is a very well-written and balanced novel.  There are fun times with friends, intense, erotically charged moments, and heart-breaking scenes all balanced throughout the book.  I easily identified with the characters and fell into their story.  I was a little sad when I finished the book, because it is the final installment in the trilogy and I am going to miss the characters and their antics.  Burn is the outstanding ending to a fabulous romantica series.

I definitely recommend Burn to readers of contemporary romance, especially for those readers who like plenty of steamy scenes and alpha males.  I do think that Burn could be read as a stand alone, however, I think readers will understand the book and characters more by reading all three books of the series in order.

PS:  Each book in The Breathless Trilogy features a “girls night out” evening that is tons of fun.  These books, especially Burn, make me want to grab my girls, my high heels, and go out dancing!   So, thank you Maya Banks for writing a series that I have enjoyed so much, I can’t wait to read whatever you write next!
